Applying for the CRNI® Examination

Eligibility requirements:

  • A current, active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States or Canada.
  • A minimum of 1,600 hours of experience in infusion therapy as a RN within the past two years. 1,600 hours of direct bedside care are not required. Nursing experience may be in the areas of nursing education, administration, research or clinical practice within the infusion specialty.

Late Applications
Late applications are not guaranteed acceptance and are subject to a $50 late fee.

Candidates who fall under the following categories are NOT eligible to submit application online: Transfers In, Substitutes, Special Accommodation Requests, VA/DoD’s Let’s Get Certified Campaign. Please submit application by mail or fax.

Application Confirmation
INCC mails a confirmation letter to ALL registrants when an application (including online) has been processed. If you do not receive a confirmation letter approximately 10 days after you submitted your application, e-mail or call (800) 434-INCC to confirm that your application was processed.

Making Your Exam Appointment 
Candidates must make an appointment to take the CRNI® exam at any one of more than 250 test sites globally (additional fees apply to international locations).
Appointments are offered at 9:00 am and 1:30 pm Monday through Saturday during March and September (exclusive of Labor Day).
Exam applicants receive an appointment notification, including scheduling instructions, from our testing agency, AMP. March applicants receive their notification during the first week of February. September applicants receive a notification during the first week of August. Appointments CANNOT be made until appointment notifications have been issued. Notifications are sent via mail and e-mail. Please make sure INCC has your most current contact information.
