Applying for the CRNI® Examination

CRNI® Examination

All applicants for the CRNI® examination must meet the following eligibility requirements.

A current, active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States or Canada. Nurses without a US or Canadian RN license are eligible to take the CRNI® Examination, if their application includes an educational evaluation and license equivalency report from an approved organization. A minimum of 1,600 hours of experience in infusion therapy as a RN within the past two years.
1,600 hours of direct bedside care are not required. Nursing experience may be in the areas of nursing education, administration, research or clinical practice within the infusion specialty.

Note: A BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) is not a prerequisite to sit for the CRNI® examination.

To apply for the exam, submit the following to INCC:

    • CRNI® Examination Application Form
    • CRNI® Examination Clinical Practice Documentation and Affirmation Form
    • Documentation of a current, active, unrestricted RN license
    • Applicable fees
    • Group Discount Form or Special Request Form (if applicable)

Applicants are not considered registered for the exam until all documentation is provided. INCC strongly advises applicants to submit their applications to INCC well in advance of deadlines.

INCC mails a confirmation letter when an application has been processed. If you do not receive a confirmation letter approximately one month after you submitted your application, e-mail INCC or call (800) 434-INCC to confirm that your paperwork was received.
