March 2010 CRNI® Examination Results The Infusion Nurses Certification Corporation (INCC) is pleased to announce that 182 registered nurses (RNs) took the March 2010 Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI®) Examination. Of those 182, 102 RNs were successful. The computer-based candidate pass rate was 64 percent. There are currently 3,264 CRNI®s.  The CRNI® Examination tests the knowledge of RNs with infusion nursing experience. The content of the exam is based on nine core content areas. The core content areas and the following test specifications are based on a job analysis that was modified in 2008 to reflect the current infusion nursing industry: Technology and Clinical Applications (25.3%); Fluid and Electrolyte Balance (13.3%); Pharmacology (13.3%); Infection Control (13.3%); Pediatrics (5.3%); Transfusion Therapy (5.3%); Antineoplastic/Biologic Therapy (10.6%); Parenteral Nutrition (6.6%); and Performance Improvement (6.6%).  The CRNI® credential is available to nurses who have a current, active, unrestricted RN license and at least 1,600 hours of infusion therapy experience accumulated over the two years prior to exam application.
